More on what is MCECG....

The group also provides radio communication for emergency drills such as those held by the Palo Verde Nuclear Facility, the Maricopa County Emergency Operations Center, the National Disaster Medical System and during actual disasters. MCECG is the Public Service arm of the Arizona Repeater Association (ARA). Our purpose is to provide skilled amateur radiocommunications services for non-profit charitable public service groups and during times of emergency. All members are volunteers and licensed amateur radio operators.

Hams who participate in public service events through MCECG are more likely to be prepared to operate successfully in a disaster by following the simple consistant operating procedures taught and practiced by MCECG members. The operating principles for public service events are the same as those for emergency situations. The primary function of a Ham volunteering for a public service event is to provide effective communications. We welcome you to the world of MCECG and encourage you to volunteer.
